Zoo for the first time!

Ceyone's very first visit to the zoo!

Going to the zoo was a special occasion for us as it would be the first time you'd see animals live. It had been quite a while when you saw the animals in your board/touch and feel books, in the rhymes and in your toys. Then it was time for some real time fun. We planned a visit to the Singapore zoo in April 2014 and I made all the bookings online a week before. We went early in the morning to catch the famous breakfast with the orang-utans.

On the way we sang one of your favourite songs - 'Daddy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow and we can stay all day...we're going to the zoo zoo zoo...how about you you you...you can come too too too!'

The moment we entered the zoo, we spotted orang-utans up above the trees. Your excitement was boundless.

We started with our breakfast while waiting for the orangutans to arrive. I brought a muffin and some yogurt for you from the buffet, but you were keen on the baked beans in my plate. They were gone in minutes. You heartily enjoyed the sumptuous buffet breakfast at the Ah Meng restaurant in the zoo.

When the orangutans began making a grand entry via the ropes above the trees, you were super excited. You personally greeted each one of them with a very warm 'hi' and all the table surrounding ours turned their heads towards you at your lovely gesture.

After our rendezvous with the orang-utans we took the tram to view other wildlife. You enjoyed viewing the big gold fish in the pond, the flamingos, Inuca the polar bear and how he jumped in the water to grab the fish, rhinoceros, zebras, giraffes, deers and more.

When you saw the lion cub statue, you took it to be a dog at first and kissed it lovingly. Then I explained to you  about it :)

Our final agenda was the water play area before returning home by lunch time. It was a super hit place for you and you went crazy for the puddles and fountains. Needless to say, it was a battle of sorts to drag you out.

I was really happy to see you have a great time at the zoo. Just like Annie and Ben in the song above, you were 'sleep sleep sleepy' on the ride back home and dozed off in minutes.

I wish you many more fun filled happy adventures and cheerfully thrilling times ahead, my sweetheart.

Dancing with joy because of you,
Mumma
