March 2019

Dear Sweetheart Ceyone,

March went by quickly as we had a fair bit of travel. I had a work trip to Japan and then during your spring break you went to Langkawi with Papa and I went to India. Your overall understanding of things around you was increasing rapidly. Your teacher told me that during one of show and tells, you answered someone's question by explaining that a birds wings has cartilage and no bones.

I found this old pic of your in my archive and it made both of us very happy. I continued with my fitness efforts if only little regularly over weekends. I also asked you to join me at the gym when you were 10+

My friend in Japan, Rie with whom I had an amazing morning during the trip. Our dress color matched as a sheer coincidence.

Handwriting classes in our household continued over the weekends.

You had your Spring Concert at Singapore Arts Theater where you enacted the 'Winter Wizard' from the play Season Wizards. We used your winter white fur jacket and a white fur scarf that I got from Tokyo.

You did very well in the play except for couple of yawns that you took on the stage while waiting your turn.

After the play, Tita tried to offer you her homemade potato burgers but you refused. Then we went for celebratory dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant Urban Bites where you enjoyed Muhammara with pita bread and their Samke Harra grilled fish. It was a nice evening.

More handwriting class sessions happening at our place.

We also went to watch Singapore Symphony Orchestra with Ahaan and his Dad. It was our first experience with Orchestra and a very unique one. The show was on intergalactic space exploration and had star wars theme. The conductor wore an astronaut's costume.

At the National Library that was our biweekly activity with other friends.

My India trip was always full of meeting family and friends. It rejuvenated me and I returned with more energy each time.

When Nana saw the wobbly wheel of my hot pink suitcase, he insisted that I buy a new one and took me with him to the Samsonite store. We bought two grey suitcases.

We went to attend baby Neil's first birthday party at Blu Kouzina at Dempsey Hill. He was my colleague Chandan's son. You had good fun enjoying the place and food there.

You holding baby crocodile in Langkawi with absolute ease and calm. Many people freaked out when they'd see your pic in our living room.

Up is also spring in Singapore right outside Aspen Heights.
Our neighbors' 10 months old daughter Baby Anya loved visiting our house and came in often to spend time with us. She was very cute and chubby and we loved having her over.

We included carrot juice in our mornings. And there's Tita making her famous home made pizzas with cheese and pineapple.

We went to ToysRUs store as your weekend ritual and finished off with McD's latest fish food promo.

One evening you asked me to bring you to Smiggle to buy a new bag as you wanted to prep for Grade I. I happily agreed. You chose a nice wheely bag with light up wheels, a rubbery water bottle and a keychain to hang from your bottle.

I made sure that you finish your writing homework every single day. You fussed a bit about it and generally completed it.

Deepti and I started to go for late evening walks once or twice a week. That was our only time after completing the day's chores. My mornings used to start early at 5.30 AM and the days would be long with spine hitting the mattress only around 11 PM. At times weeks passed by in a blink. It was all very fulfilling because you were with me and we enjoyed doing everything together.

Love you Ceyone, you are the best baby :)
