February, 2021

Dear Lovely Handsome Ceyone,

You had taken to religion Rowling before you turned 8 years old. On the occasion of Book Week, you dressed up as Harry Potter and went to school. I drew the lightning mark scar on your forehead with my eyeliner and we borrowed round frame from Radhi, no glasses. We also printed some Harry Potter pages and stuck them on a piece of cardboard so you could carry your book replica around. I was so happy to see you in that get up. I wanted to write at the back of your tshirt, "The Boy Who Lived" as I felt you were truly the boy who lived :) I'll tell you more about this when you grow up!

We often had Shiva and Belinda visit us and one day they were enjoying a happy meal in Tita's room.

In book club, we covered the history of chocolate. We watched a bunch of videos and then I melted some chocolate chips and we all enjoyed the decadent taste of freshly melted chocolate together. You immediately made a request for the history of ice-cream next :)

Nani sent me these old photos of Nana with Robin and Robin sleeping on his old Jaipuri rajai. You had never met Robin yet you knew all about him through the stories you asked me to tell you about Robin.

More of our book club moments continued where I showed you all some videos, we discussed topics and exchanged thoughts.

I also went to Deepti's place for breakfast one morning and enjoyed the lovely morning with my friends. It was also right after Valentine's Day so I carried flowers for all my friends to celebrate Galentine's Day.
That Deepti, me, Neha and Shweta doing crazy things together.

I had recently started going to office after almost a year, on and off. Whenever I went, I got the opportunity to do my hair and a bit of make up and I clicked photos of myself to cherish and perk me up on any low moments.

In our book club, we also did Harry Potter script practice one time and you all enjoyed it a lot.

Handwriting classes continued as usual.

Your school renovated the primary school section and invited parents to visit. As I had a day off, I took the opportunity to attend and was very excited to see you attending your PE class in the newly laid astroturf.

That was your art class and corridors.

The library and a classroom.

Mini play area and central yard for fun. There was a massive soccer court created at the lower level and you had a lot of fun playing soccer with your friends there.

More sessions of our writing class and play time on your bunk bed with your million toys afterwards.

There would be balls lying in every room of our apartment and you'd always be kicking and practicing, all the time.

Your soccer classes continued every weekend and it was almost 6 months. You always looked forward to those and participated with a lot of enthusiasm.

With more players of your class. They also gave you t-shirts with your name, balls and masks with your name to build deeper interest in the sport.

That's your coach Gaye and Cherif.

I also came to see your practice one of the days and enjoyed watching you play a lot.
You went to MTR with Samar for your favorite set dosa dinner and both of you had a ball!

Meanwhile, handwriting classes continued every weekend, week after week.

One big highlight of February, 2021 was Nani's 60th birthday! I had organized a zoom party for the entire family with a cake delivery to Naani's place and hired an amazing singer Som Prem to sing songs at her party. It was good fun with everyone engaged and together for her party.  Naani had a good surprise :) and we even created a video for her.

. '

That's me back at work after a very long time! It was a bit weird to be in office but I went for it to get a feel and have some breaks in my day. It was very mundane working from home all day, every day for past one year.

More of our handwriting classes at home.

During one of the book club days I covered history of denim and laid out a bunch of denim pieces from my wardrobe. You all had so much fun with them and everyone automatically wore the clothes that I had just spread out on the floor, no matter the size.

Loads more of our writing classes with kids writing, chatting and having fun together.

As it was Lunar New Year and the year of the Ox, there were cows stationed all over Singapore that looked quite cute. I captured a few during my daily morning walk.

Teaching little kids the correct cursive writing strokes was a passion to me and I enjoyed doing it every weekend.

I also organized our annual photo shoot with professional photographer and we had fun clicking several shots together.

There was another shoot with my office colleagues that happened a couple of days before.

You and I had fun on our indigo couch while the photographer sneaked a few candid shots.

A few shots with Papa.

Then we went downstairs to click more photos in the natural light by the pool side.

Something I found in a book and liked a lot so saved it.

Lovely Ceyone, may you continue to stay chirpy, chubby and cheeky. May God always bless you and all of us.

May you always get to put up your feet after a hard day of work.

Lots of love,
Mumma
