April 2021

Dearest Sweetheart Ceyone,

April, 2021 came and went by in a blink. In the beginning of the month, everything felt to be settling in well. Later, towards the end, COVID-19 situation in India worsened beyond measure. My best friends got it in India and after reading all of the Tweets etc I felt extremely anxious, tearful and angry. You also liked to remain front and centre of all updates and often asked to translate in English if Papa and I would be discussing any govt. or policy matters after consuming latest news. You were a chatty person in general once you opened up. You wanted to know everything about everything and asked us to tell you stories all the time. Sometimes, Tita called you busy body hahaha.

You also had soccer classes more and more and your friend Arjun also joined your classes at the Khalsa Association. There you all having a fun lesson with coach Charif who was an ex PSG player. He was a smasher and a rockstar and it was such a treat to see him on the field. There you were enjoying training with him.

April also brought a series of birthday parties and you had to attend two in a day. You went to Arjun's 11th birthday.

Then Takumi's 8th birthday.

And then Siddharth's 11th birthday party as well. I was happy that all the parties were held at home due to covid-19 restrictions.

More of our handwriting classes at home continued.

You enjoying your soccer time with Takumi. Rain or shine, soccer never stopped. I failed to understand what was it about the sport that drew you so much. Perhaps, someday I'll find my answer...

On the last day of your camp, you went for lunch with Takumi's family at Muji cafe. You loved the chicken there and asked me to bring you again.

Taking good rest after a long and active day filled with physical activity.
You saw me wearing the Pikachu hairband for a meeting and soon you took it from him and posed for a photo in your pretend cute pose :)

There I was waiting for our writing class children. And that's an old photo with baby Kiaan when he was just 5 months old, in India.

More pics from your soccer. Coach Gaya's son who was an S-league player came to the field one day and we all posed for pics with him.

When you boys were not playing soccer on the field, you were playing FIFA Mobile on mobile phones. You also played a lot of it on your ipad.

I had the opportunity to go for a team lunch at SBCD Korean Tofu House with my team. It was a nice, rare, fun team outing.

We did a BBQ for Uncle Vishesh's pre birthday celebrations. It rained that evening and poured over our BBQ plans. But we still managed and Deepti still grilled a lot of stuff for everyone. We'd go in ponchos and umbrellas to fetch items from the grill. Was such an adventure.

That's our weekly grocery shopping and I experimented home made Naan through a recipe from The GoodHousekeeping Mag and it turned out quite nice. I soon converted it into focaccia recipe and then it became a regular in our home. That looks like a roti, but it was actually garlic naan and you loved it :)

More of our handwriting class photos.

Everyone enjoying writing.

It was Tita's birthday and we went to this Greek restaurant Bakalaki to celebrate it. You and I loved the food but Tita was so full from lunch with her friends that she hardly ate anything. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed together.

Then at home we cut the cake together. It was a salted caramel cake with crunchy balls and was quite nice.

Samar, Shiv and Belinda also came for the party and we all enjoyed the cake together.

That was your typical weekend pancake breakfast and Deepti sent us sabudana wada. They were super delicious. When I told you that these are wada's you looked at me quizzically and said that you thought wadas had a hole in them. I found it funny and smart on your part and was truly at a loss of an answer for you.

Little kids having fun at our class and enjoying watching and feedback the goldfish.

Ishaan and Vivaan showing off their good handwriting work.

After the class everyone relaxed in our loungy living room and either read books or just played around. I loved this part of the weekend as well to have little kids in the house and seeing them having free time.

You took me to Platform 1904 aka Harry Potter cafe. The food presentation there was stellar but it was mostly junk food. We enjoyed the butter beer and chocolate frogs.

That's some of my healthy food that I would eat in dinner every evening. I had changed my dinner quite a lot and I couldn't eat oily food anymore.

More moments from handwriting classes on the weekends.

I got you a new bunny soft toy and got your name "Ceyone" embroidered on its ear as well. We also went to Shake Shack on of the long weekend evening to try the newly opened outlet in Great World City Mall.

One day Shivin came early for writing class and he enjoyed spending time at our place.

There's my focaccia bread before and after. I think I got a good hang of it.

You had a field trip from school and went to Maxwell Food Center where you bought your own food, Chicken Rice and had good fun with your classmates. You were also learning about business sense in your unit of enquiry and were going to participate in market day at school. You had chosen to sell 'soccer coaching' as your trade.

May you always have freshly baked bread and its aroma in your kitchen, Ceyone.

Lots of love,
Mumma
