Dearest Darling Ceyone,
October 2015 was another fun and exciting month. The major event of the month was your first Halloween celebration. I organized Halloween themed 'Bring your kids to work day' at my office, Twitter Singapore. 25+ kids including you came to the office one Friday evening, received pumpkin shaped buckets and went around the office trick or treating. Some kids dressed up as well. It was a great day!
Your smile has become my east. :)
The celebrations continued when one of the weekends we had Halloween Trick or Treat at our apartment Aspen Heights. More than 100 kids participated and while I took you around for collecting candies, Papa stayed home to give them out. Many people had decorated their houses with cobwebs and funny skeletons.
You dressed up as your favorite UK cartoon character Fireman Sam. I wanted to keep your outfit comfortable so had put together something at home. Once you got the concept, we just dived in from door to door. The next day after the event you were ready again for trick or treating. We had to explain to you that Halloween was over. I also felt that one day was too less to enjoy the celebration and the fun. I think we were all excited for the next year!
Halloween at your school in Singapore
Relishing rainbow lolly at home. Sometimes you got to enjoy ice creams but I made sure they were rare. You loved licking away every bit of them. As expected.
You and toilet rolls were a deadly combo. We came up with creative ways of storing toilet rolls but once in a while you got hold of them and then it'd be the last day of that roll. You were usually allowed to do most thing you pleased :) Daddy was your biggest supporter (aka spoil contributor)
After the Halloween fun, we had my work team - aunty boss and uncle boss at home for dinner. Aunty boss Em brought her pet Dino and it made your evening. You were deeply engaged with Dino and his activities throughout the evening. Dino seemed to have fun too.
Mike and you having a small talk about something.
Meanwhile, asking you to brush your teeth was still a struggle. The goal was to brush 3 times a day. We were reaching there slowly but some days used to be bad weather.
Papa's work friends for lunch at home while you were busy playing with the new humidifier. You pretended that it was a fire extinguisher and playing fire man was your favorite past time. You'd easily spend 30-40 minutes with the humidifier maneuvering its steam output.
We also had play date with some of your older friends - Ansh and Ayan. You all had a great time together at home - riding bikes, coloring, eating pasta with pesto and banging all the toys. It was then I realized that entertaining older boys was not the same. Their energies were nuclear level.
Sometimes Tita used to come to me and say - "Mumma he's soaking in the tub again!" That was your new past time. Spending 60 minutes in the tub, rediscovering Archimedes principles.
We all used to take turns to sit with you in the bathroom. Inevitably whoever went in came out completely drenched with your syringe fights. It was mostly Papa who was made to volunteer but sometimes I did too.
Eating breakfast in the balcony in the mornings with Tita.
I bought new fur covers for our sofa and you stress tested them by lying on them immediately. It had clicked well.
Play dough modeling was one of your favorite activities. It was also the time when you were learning to smile for the camera. You were so cute as you couldn't fake a smile. Your smile told that you had made it up. Such was the cuteness of toddlerhood.
With the surge in my office workload, I was able to spend less and less time writing the blog. I had a huge backlog built up where I had to complete a few months all together. But I was determined not to lose touch. Writing about your little stories was my favorite things to do. Papa said when times were good, they'd pass pretty quickly and I couldn't agree more. Life with you was just puffing and chuffing away.
Love you to the moon and back Ceyone.
Mumma
