Oct 2018

Dear Lovely Little Boy Ceyone,

I always thought that I'll have a baby girl and bought tonnes of artificial jewelry to pass to her even before I became a mother. On another thought being your parent and growing up a little boy with heart of gold surpassed all past aspirations. I was excited every single day to come running to you after work, hug you, listen to your stories, eat dinner with you...sometimes have it on the sofa while you watched your eerie reptile videos, catching up movies on Netflix with you like 'The Diary of a Wimpy Kid', 'Home Alone' with you, making you do your daily dose of handwriting, reading you to sleep and planting kisses on your cheeks while you slumbered.

Oct 2018 was no different than being another busy month in our household. I completed 3 years working at Twitter, actually 4 when including one year of contract. My boss Dennis and team mate Brenda surprised me with a cake during lunch time with dim lights and music in front of everyone. It was a bit embarrassed and a lot happy. It was an absolute caught unawares moment for me. I was very grateful to work at that place and have a boss who didn't mind wearing a saree when needed! #LoveWhereYouWork

Off late I was very focussed on consciously doing things that were for one's individual self. I felt that if a person was fully contented they'd be able to give their best to any situation, their purest love and undivided attention to their loved ones. I saw this cute pic in the newspaper of a woman irrigating her own heart and it stuck with me.

We were embarking the time of the year that is full of festivals, starting with Navratri (9 days of worshipping Goddess Durga). The Indian crowd at our building in SG celebrated all festivals with great enthusiasm and I enjoyed the community feeling. Bonding with friends was special to me and I wanted you to enjoy the sheer joy of friendship.

Meanwhile at home, mission health continued. Morning smoothies and dosas from readymade batter that was available at Uncle Ricky's mini mart downstairs.

Our handwriting club and trips to National Library also continued in full swing.

That was Aunty Sandy, the hairdresser who used to come home to cut our hair. It was a very convenient, reasonable and good service.

I made a trip to India in October while Papa's sister Mona Bua and her daughter, your cousin sister Norah visited you.
In India I caught up with my childhood best friend, Dolly after several years! It was a lot of fun to get back together and restart the fun once again.

I also spent a few days in Bhopal, relishing Naani's home cooked food. I often wondered how I'd be able to give you yummy food when you grew up as me and cooking had gotten poles apart.

We also went venue hunting for your 6th birthday party and finalized this place called 'Sayaji' hotel at Bhopal.

Savoring chhole bhature from Manohar Dairy, my childhood favorite shop and absolute favorite.

That is Adnan my childhood best friend with his 3 kids.

Saying bye and returning to come to you!

The tiny tadpoles that you bought from frog farm turned into frogs and we had two grown up toads croaking in our house. Finally when Tita couldn't contain them while cleaning their tanks, we decided to send them back to the frog farm. Even I found it interesting to see how frogs lived and behaved.

October was also the time for Halloween. You had asked to become Black Spiderman that year. I was on task. Since I didn't want to buy one time costumes, I intentionally bought a black full swim suit for you and converted it into spider man's costume for Halloween through DIY.

There was Halloween celebration at my office that I had organized. You were excited to visit and participated in the magic show.

When the magician called you on the stage for some tricks, you acted so naughty and started pulling his things apart. He got a bit rattled that you might let open his secrets so he soon asked you to get down :) I was observing all of it and getting entertained.

We also had Trick or Treat fun at Aspen Heights! We visited so many houses and collected loads of candies and trinkets.

We also attended your class mate Haruto's birthday party that involved making ramen from the scratch. It was a lot of fun! There was a step that involved packing your dough in a plastic bag and then stepping on it to soften it. Finally, it was time to churn ramen from the tiny machines that they installed on tables. It was a very unique concept and lot of fun for a birthday party. Everyone got their bowl of ramen to relish at the end that they prepared with their very own little hands...and feet!

When I was in India, there was an ipad accident at home in Singapore. Papa placed your beautiful ipad in the top shelf for you to watch. It was not leaning properly and crash landed on the floor beyond repair. As ours was a TV free household, you were missing your ipad very much and were relying on Tita's ipad. Ultimately, we bought you a new ipad over the weekend. You were delighted.

Papa took us to see the Great Moscow Circus and it was extremely thrilling. I had a lot of fun watching the adventurous tricks and sometimes even closed my eyes. Some of the performances were extreme.

Our handwriting club was inevitably followed by extended play times. It was a great engagement to spend time with friends and that day you all decided to play soccer in our living room!

It was a beautiful life overall. I read a quote in a book and loved it totally "Life belongs to those who love it" and tried to inculcate this in our day to day living.

TooMuch Love,
Mumma
