April 2020

My cutest pie Ceyone,

These were the times of COVID-19. The entire world was battling this pandemic and we were also at home following Singapore's circuit breaker measures. We could step out for walks and buying groceries and had to wear a mask at all times. That was it. No playdates, no classes, no office and no school! It was work from home and school from home, which was not the easiest. But we were trying our best and we were very grateful for all that we had. I often thought about the frontline workers, the medical staff that was helping patients all the time. They were the true heroes! We made a small donation to migrant workers in Singapore that was the biggest impacted group through charities like Raining Raincoats and infaq.sg. I involved you into making the contribution so you could experience how it feels to sponsor meals for people.

We had rearranged some of the furniture and freed up a long stretch of space in the living room. That was actively used for playing football matches at home as it was your newest fancy.

There we are ready to go for a walk in the evening with our masks on.

You did imaginary play with your dinosaur enclosure using jenga. That is a typical home school moment for us.

April brought Tita's birthday for us. You and Papa ordered a lovely pink cake for her. She was ecstatic to see it. Samar, Shiv and Belinda also joined us in the celebration.

Cake and memories.

It was also the time of spring cleaning for me and I found several old photos.

That is your collection of bey blades. Perhaps you had every single one they made. We often had matches and you made choices of the blades for your opponent, giving them the lesser performing ones :)

Someone sent a message that rainbows might help in bringing more positivity around so we made one and stuck it on our balcony door. They were quite tough times and any ray of hope for a better future was widely welcome.

We created this care box for delivery people visiting our place to deliver groceries, post, food and more. They were the brave warriors who ensured that we got everything we needed in the comfort of our home.

Sometimes you played in your teepee and read books in it.

You finally got smitten by Harry Potter and you were a convert to religion Rowling. Once you laid your hands on the first book then there was no looking back. Mamu had gifted you part 2 and 3 for your 7th birthday and your were into the series full on, reading every free minute, early minute, afternoon and at night. We ordered the rest of the set for you online so you had the full collection to go through.

Dogman was another favorite series and we loved drawing the characters with the helpful step by step guide at the end of every book.

That is some of Tita's food that we cherished a lot.

I was trying hard to convert our household into fruitarian for every snack time.

That's our typical ready for a walk pic. And that's you having your ipad time in Papa's lap in his room. You were allowed to play games on ipad only after finishing your daily homework and kumon worksheet. I was happy to instill that habit in you.

While doing spring cleaning we decided to check out your super heroes collection in an attempt to sort them. It was just too many and you loved them all. So we preserved them.

You were spending most of your watch time by watching this Australian series called 'The Inbestigators'. Even I enjoyed watching it with you. In the series the kids were always making something related to food or craft work while reporting an investigation case. That motivated you to try your hand in the kitchen. You learned to make your own jam and butter sandwiches. I was very pleased to see this.

As we were home, we could sleep in a little longer together and woke up slowly. That's our typical morning time and often spent time cuddling, chatting, throwing soft toys at each other and watching baby Kiaan videos.
That time a lot cutie green parrots visited our neighborhood and I saw them from our window.

Sometimes you went to spend time in Tita's room and you both watched your own content but sat together.

You also received a certificate for good work from your class teacher Mrs. Yvonne Hayward. I was very happy to see that.

You went for walk with Papa and observed some fish at a nearby pond.

Some old photos I got. That was one in Tokyo when you were a 3 months old baby and then when you were a 6 years old happy, chubby boy who always wanted to tease me.

Your Mumma loves you as much as there are stars in the sky Ceyone.

Blessings always,
Mumma
